Built on Two Beliefs
From day one, Brian Hartz has been passionate about two things:
Our people come first. Every team member should feel genuinely valued and engaged — because clinicians who feel supported give patients the best care.
Community is who we are. Giving back to the towns we live and work in isn’t an afterthought — it’s built into how we operate.
Over the past 25 years, Brian has refined an employee engagement system that delivers on both — all year long.
Giving back, all year round
Community is woven into everyday life at HARTZ. Throughout the year, our team volunteers, shows up for local events, and supports the organizations that make Lancaster County special — from food drives to fundraisers to lending a hand wherever it’s needed.
Our biggest tradition: the team challenge
Every two years, our staff takes on a company-wide challenge built around a points goal — earned through a mix of individual, team, and community accomplishments. It’s designed to help every person grow professionally and personally, all while making a real difference in the community around us.
And the payoff? Teams who hit the goal earn an all-expense-paid trip to destinations like Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Nashville and Cancun — because we believe in celebrating hard work as hard as we work.
The real reward
The beauty of it isn’t the trip — it’s watching what a locally owned team can accomplish when we all pull toward a common goal. Stronger clinicians. Tighter teamwork. And a whole lot of good done for Lancaster County along the way.
Every challenge, our team pours into the people and places around us. Here’s a look at the impact from one recent round:

Like what you see?
This is who we are every single day. If that sounds like a team you’d want to be part of, we’d love to meet you.
