What Makes Gavin Special
Gavin brings a strong clinical foundation, curiosity, and a clear enthusiasm for outpatient physical therapy. A recent Lebanon Valley College graduate, he completed both his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Through his clinical rotations Gavin developed hands-on experience treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions while building confidence in caseload management, clinical reasoning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. During his most recent rotation, he also gained experience with orthotics, including customizing devices using gait analysis technology—an experience that strengthened his interest in individualized, evidence-based care. Gavin is especially energized by the problem-solving side of PT and enjoys digging deeper to identify root causes of symptoms.
Outside the clinic, Gavin enjoys disc golf, volleyball, and puzzle-solving—activities that reflect his focus, patience, and enjoyment of challenges.
Want to know more? Here’s a little Q & A…
Why did you choose to be a PT/PTA for your profession?
I chose physical therapy because I wanted a career where I could combine science, problem-solving, and helping people improve their quality of life. I enjoy building relationships with patients and being part of their journey as they regain function, confidence, and independence.
What’s the one thing you wish you’d known when you began working as a PT? What advice would you give a newbie?
I wish I had known that it’s okay not to have all the answers immediately. School provides a strong foundation, but real growth happens through experience, mentorship, and continuous learning. My advice to a new therapist would be to ask questions, seek feedback, and remember that confidence develops over time.
What energizes you at work?
Seeing patients achieve goals that seemed out of reach when they first started therapy is incredibly rewarding. Whether it’s returning to a favorite sport, walking without pain, or simply performing daily activities more comfortably, those milestones make the work meaningful.
Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?
I would be on a golf course.
What’s one habit you’re trying to form (or un-form)?
I am currently trying to form the habit of getting up at my first alarm instead of hitting snooze.
What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great” – Zig Ziglar
What’s your favorite place locally?
I enjoy going to Pine View Dairy for Milkshakes
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy playing golf, disc golf, volleyball, and completing jigsaw puzzles
Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
I am able to solve a Rubik’s Cube
What’s something you’ve done, but you’ll never do again?
I went on a 2 week cross-country road trip in my Grandma’s minivan where we stopped at Mount Rushmore, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon.
