Lancaster, PA., May 13, 2024 – Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace surprised the staff and owners of Hartz Physical Therapy at their 3rd Annual Spring Swing Golf Tournament on Friday to declare May 10th HARTZ Physical Therapy Day in Lancaster. In attendance with Sorace were representatives from a variety of local charities that HARTZ Physical Therapy has helped over the past twenty years.
We are honored and humbled to receive this honor from Mayor Sorance and the city of Lancaster. Our entire team is committed to fulfilling our mission of providing unparalleled outcomes and top-notch customer service to our patients, opportunities for professional and personal growth for our staff members, and contributions of time, talent, and resources to our surrounding community. We have been fortunate to collaborate with so many worthy organizations over the past 24 years and look forward to continuing doing our part to improve the communities in which we live.

“For the past 24 years, Hartz Physical Therapy has quietly developed a premier physical therapy practice with six offices and 42 employees. It is not all Brian Hartz has done. As Founder and owner, Brian and his wife Amy Walker Hartz, CFO of the practice, have followed through on Brian’s commitment to the serving the communities in which they live and work,” said Lena Hohenadel, board member of Off the Streets Lancaster. Hohenadel was responsible for contacting Mayor Sorace and requesting this honor for HARTZ PT.
“Through their Hartz Physical Therapy Charitable Organization along with the help of their staff they spend an average of 50 volunteer hours and contribute more than $1,000 per employee in support of local Lancaster charities and educational institutions each year. Off The Streets Lancaster is a grateful benefactor, and proud to have made Mayor Danene Sorace aware of these substantial contributions to our community by HARTZ PT,” she continued.

HARTZ PT volunteers their time cleaning parks, the local stretch of highway they adopted, feeding the homeless, participating in 5K’s and playing with children from the Boys & Girls Club among others. They have raised thousands of dollars hosting events for local nonprofits including their annual Spring Swing Golf Tournament which benefits Off the Streets and Hartz’ signature Fall Blast 5K has raised over $315,000 in the past 20 years benefitting charities A Week Away, Benchmark, Gigi’s Playhouse, Off The Streets, Power Packs, Hospice of Lancaster County, The Lancaster Science Factory, Girls on the Run, and Aaron’s Acres. In addition, their annual Feed the Need Spring Food Drive has collected thousands of pounds of food for Water Street Mission, Power Packs and Arch Street Center. In April they hosted their 2nd Annual Parkinson’s Community Walk attended by 175 walkers. This event was created through the Red Rose Parkinson’s Support Group which they helped form.
