Want to know more? Here’s a little Q & A…
What’s something that has surprised you about your chosen career path?
I started my billing career for a collection agency. It was just a job for me. I never thought that it would turn into my career path of learning the ins and outs of the health insurance world.
What professional accomplishment of yours are you most proud of?
Getting my CBCS (Certified Billing and Coding Specialist) certification. This was something that I worked on for a very long time.
What energizes you at work?
Being appreciated and being able to help my coworkers and patients.
Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?
Somewhere warm and sunny, probably with a margarita in my hand.
What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
Coffee! I love coffee anytime of the day.
What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
“Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off your goals.” – Henry Ford
What’s your favorite place locally?
Any type of market. I love Central Market and local “pop-up” markets.
Do you have any pets?
3 “old men” cats. Pepper (18), Shadow (16) and Zeus (13). The are very “grumpy” old men. But if anyone new comes to my home, they are full of life for a new person.
Favorite Sport to watch? Who’s your team?
My kid’s soccer games, along with football. My husband is a Pittsburg Steelers fan; therefore, I am a Steelers fan by default.
What’s one item you can’t leave home without?
One of my (many) water bottles/cups. Yes, I have many and I use them all. At least, that is what I keep telling my husband and kids.
What’s your favorite meal of the day?
Breakfast – It is a meal that you can eat anytime of the day. There are also so many different “breakfast” foods that I never get sick of it.
What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
Mauritius. It is a tiny island in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Madagascar. Most people have never even heard of it. My aunt and cousins live there and I was very fortunate to spend the summer there when I was a teenager.
