The October Nominees:

Bridge of Hope serves families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Lancaster area. Families that we partner with benefit from a network of Christian faith volunteers, rental assistance, and intensive case management as they work to achieve long term stability.

Registered Keystone Pet Enchanced Therapy Services (KPETS) volunteers and their companion animals promote well-being and offer encouragement in our communities by sharing the power and benefits of human-animal interactions.
Serving local communities in health-related facilities, social agencies, special-needs programs, schools, libraries, retirement communities and hospices, KPETS teams readily visit wherever the human/animal connection may be beneficial. KPETS services are free of charge. Established in 2003, KPETS has grown into an organization with more than 300 volunteer teams, providing thousands of hours of animal assisted therapy for hundreds of facilities and agencies every year.

Since 1969 the Conservancy has been working to save important natural places for people and wildlife. As more land is lost each year to development, it’s our mission to protect and maintain carefully selected habitat in its natural state as a balance to our growth.
Each conservation project is as unique as the property itself, and we are grateful to work with wonderful partners who allow us the flexibility necessary to save nature however possible!
The Conservancy protects more than 5,000 acres in preserves and 900 acres in conservation easements. Their goals include: Ensure land trust standards and practices are met as an accredited land trust, Enhance the conservation values of ecosystems we protect for outdoor recreation, scientific research, and public use. Serve as the external lead for the Susquehanna Riverlands Conservation Landscape guiding strategic decisions in the region.

Meals on Wheels of Lancaster is a nonprofit organization serving our community since 1967. We provide ready-to-eat meals to older adults, people living with disabilities, and neighbors recovering from illness or injury—anyone who needs support to live safely at home.
Our meals are prepared fresh each day in our professional kitchen by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Every weekday—including holidays—clients receive both a hot and a cold meal delivered right to their door.
