Want to know more? Here’s a little Q & A…
What’s something that has surprised you about your chosen career path?
I never knew I would enjoy the administrative side of therapy so much! It was nice being able to dip my toes in the water when pregnant with my first child, and it allowed me to see the therapy world as both a clinician and office staff.
What professional accomplishment of yours are you most proud of?
I am proud of the rapport I have built with my clients and their families over the years. It’s so fulfilling to know the difference you have made in someone’s life.
Most important advice you give your patients?
Trust your therapists! They know what they’re talking about and want you to be successful in your goals. If they’re saying it’s the best treatment plan/ advice/technique, they mean it 🙂
What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
My day is instantly better if I have time to sit outside with my family and enjoy the sunshine.
Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?
I would be exploring ancient architecture, specifically old churches and cathedrals, and collecting as many artifacts and antiques as I could!
What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34 – it always reminds me to take a step back and breathe when I am feeling overwhelmed, especially if there are circumstances that are out of my control.
What are your hobbies?
I love scoring a good thrift find or yard sale deal! I love decorating and making spaces beautiful and functional in my home. I also really love to sing and dance.
Do you have any pets?
Yes! Despite being a “dog person,” I somehow wound up with cats and rats. I live near farmland, and the cats have all chosen my home as their own. My rats (Gweneviere and Aurora) are sisters and are an endless source of laughs in our home.
What songs are on the soundtrack to your life?
At the moment, my go-to song is Hot Blooded by the New Constellations. My day-to-day mix is quite eclectic and rotates through anything from Counting Crows and Matchbox 20, to Aqua, to Creux Lies, to Bob Dylan, to Ballyhoo, with lots of music from the 80s and 90s mixed in.
What’s your favorite tradition (holiday or otherwise?)
My family has always been big Halloween and Christmas people. I love to decorate and make things feel warm and festive. My boyfriend has only made this obsession worse (he may even have more decorations than me!) I enjoy being surrounded by the people I love the most and just enjoying the time spent in conversation, which these holidays allow.
What’s one item you can’t leave home without?
CHAPSTICK!
