What makes Owen special?
We’re excited to welcome Owen Baillie to our team as a PT Aide and Administrative Assistant! A recent graduate of Elon University with a degree in Exercise Science, Owen is joining us during his gap year before pursuing DPT school in the fall of 2026. His passion for physical therapy and patient care makes him a wonderful fit for our clinic.
What makes Owen special is his eagerness to learn and grow in the field while bringing a positive, can-do attitude to every task. He’ll be assisting primarily in our Manheim and Lancaster offices, where his enthusiasm for teamwork and helping others will shine.
Outside of work, Owen keeps active by playing soccer, working out, skiing, and enjoying the outdoors. He also loves traveling and photography—interests that reflect his adventurous spirit and curiosity about the world. We’re confident that his energy, dedication, and genuine interest in people will make him a valued part of our team.
Want to know more? Here’s a little Q & A…
Why did you choose to be a PT/PTA for your profession?
I have chosen to pursue physical therapy because of my own experiences growing up with injuries playing soccer. PT not only helped me recover, but it also showed me how rewarding it is to connect with people and support them on their journey back to what they love to do. I plan to build a career that allows me to help others, and physical therapy blends that passion with my love for movement and staying active.
If you weren’t a PT/PTA what you be doing, especially if salary wasn’t a concern?
If I weren’t pursuing physical therapy, I would love to travel the world, meet new people, and experience as many cultures and adventures as possible. I have always loved the outdoors and nature, so in a dream scenario I would be a wildlife photographer for National Geographic, capturing unique moments while sharing them with others.
What energizes you at work?
What energizes me is having a close relationship with the team I am with and being able to work hard while also having fun. I also enjoy brightening other people’s days, whether that’s coworkers or patients, because seeing their energy lift makes me feel more positive and energized too.
What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
One thing that instantly makes my day better is getting in some kind of workout or physical activity. Staying active clears my mind and boosts my energy for the rest of the day.
Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?
I would be everywhere! I would not stop traveling and trying new things. Most likely, I would be in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nature. Ideally, out on a safari looking for wildlife.
Is there any experience you think everyone should be required to have? What is it?
I think everyone should have the experience of solo traveling outside their home country. I studied abroad twice, once in New Zealand and once in Tanzania, and those experiences gave me the chance to spend time with myself and really learn a lot about who I am. You also meet a lot of amazing people along the way, which makes the experience even more meaningful.
Do you have any pets?
I have a Black Labrador named Axel who is three years old, and a rescue cat named Scout
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that I have moved around a lot growing up. One of the most unique places I have lived was Shanghai, China for 2 years.
What’s on your bucket list?
I have a lot of things on my bucket list. One of the big ones is to do a big road trip to a lot of the National Parks in the U.S. (Yellowstone, Glacier, Tetons, etc.)
What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is having regrets when I am older about what I could have done when I was younger or right now. I am sure I will have regrets, but I want to have very few of them.
