What makes Violet special?
Violet is a recent PTA graduate from Central Penn and fell in love with the field of physical therapy during a high school internship—and she hasn’t looked back since.
Over the past three years, she has gained hands-on experience and built a strong foundation in patient care. She completed one of her seven-week clinical rotations at the HARTZ PT in Mount Joy and she is willing to jump in and help wherever she is needed, whether that’s supporting the team during treatments or assisting with clinic tasks.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, bike rides, building LEGO sets, and anything artsy.
Want to know more? Here’s a little Q & A…
Why did you choose to be a PT/PTA for your profession?
I have always wanted to be involved in a field where I could help others and enjoy the one-on-one aspect that we are able to provide through physical therapy.
What’s something that has surprised you about your chosen career path?
The vast number of specialties that the field has to offer, there’s so many niches for those working in the field and the ability to help so many individuals.
What professional accomplishment of yours are you most proud of?
Graduating from college and passing my PTA Boards this past year.
What energizes you at work?
Seeing the excitement of patients as they progress in their treatment, even the small accomplishments deserve to be celebrated!
What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
Seeing friends/the people I love!
Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?
I would love to visit Iceland and watch the Northern Lights.
Is there any experience you think everyone should be required to have? What is it?
Trying new foods, you won’t know you don’t like something until you’ve tried it!
What are you passionate about?
Volunteering! Throughout my college career I would volunteer at a local food bank doing various tasks including packing weekender bags for local schools and sorting donations in the warehouse.
What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
“The simplest answer is to act.”― A.S. King, Everybody Sees the Ants
What’s your favorite place locally?
Thistle Finch for tacos on Thursday with friends!
What are your hobbies?
Every since I was little I’ve enjoyed all things art related. It began with learning to crochet in grade school, which turned into painting, pressing flowers, cross-stitch, and most recently, making my own linocut prints. Anything to keep the mind and hands occupied! When not hunkered down with an art project, I enjoy going for hikes, bike rides, and experiencing all the outdoors has to offer.
What’s on your bucket list?
See a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado! Some of the bands I’d love to see there are Dr. Dog, Caamp and Mt. Joy.
What is your biggest fear?
Heights… as much as I love the outdoors and hiking, I will not get close to the edge of a summit.
