Want to know more?  Here’s a little Q & A…

Why did you choose to be a PT/PTA for your profession?

When I was younger, I had to go through physical therapy myself and I also watched my sister go through it after she tore her ACL. I have seen the impact physical therapy made in our lives and I wanted to be that person for other people as a career.

I also have a passion and interest for the human body and how it works. It’s so fascinating to be able to learn the different aspects of the human body and how that can be similar from person to person, but also very different.

What energizes you at work?

If there is good music playing in the clinic, I will either be singing or humming along with it. I typically will be jamming out to hits from the 2000s or some other throwback song. Another thing that energizes me at work is being able to talk to patients and get to know them. Yes, coming to therapy is about putting the work in doing the rehab, but it is also about getting to know each other personally.

Most important advice you give your patients?

Never stop moving! Whether that is just getting out of bed in the morning and doing things around the house or getting outside and going for a walk, movement is so important.

Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?

I would be traveling the world or on an island somewhere. I would love to see the different parts of the world and experience the different cultures. There is so much out there!

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about helping others. I love being able to help a patient reach a goal they have always wanted to achieve or to come back after a surgery. When I’m not at work, I still enjoy helping others. I stand behind the phrase of putting others first before yourself.

I am also passionate about fitness. At a young age, I was always involved in sports, specifically soccer, and it has carried over years later. Now, the majority of my workouts involve lifting in a gym, so if I’m not at work, that’s usually where you can find me.

What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?

“Don’t compare your results to someone else’s. You can never be another person, you can only be a better version of yourself.”- I absolutely love this quote because it is so true! In a day and age where you have social media, we constantly compare ourselves to others without even realizing. But the reality is, everyone is at their own place in life. What you may be going through, no one else is. So take it easy on yourself and be the best version of you that you can be!

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

That I’m a twin! I’m 5 minutes older than my sister and I love knowing I’ll always have a best friend!

What’s something you’ve done, but you’ll never do again?

Get OC sprayed (Pepper-sprayed). I had to be sprayed because I’m in the Army Reserves. When I got to my unit as Military Police, this was one of the requirements. The combination of not being able to see or breathe for an extended period of time, is not something I would recommend.

What’s your favorite meal of the day?

Definitely breakfast! I could eat that meal anytime of the day and multiple times in a day. There is so much variety that I feel I would never get sick of it.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

Cuba! I just got back from a deployment there. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go off base and get to experience the culture, but I was grateful for the experience.
