What makes Sandra special?

Originally from Baltimore, Sandra began her career in 1982 managing group sales at the newly opened National Aquarium. Her early years were spent deeply involved in Maryland’s tourism community, where she developed a strong passion for hospitality and connection.

In 1991, she relocated to Lancaster, got married, and co-founded a tourism brochure distribution company. She sold her share of the business in 2015, though it continues to operate successfully today.

Above all, she takes the greatest pride in being a mom to her two children—Byron (31) and Annie (24). She enjoys spending time outdoors, watching football, walking, beach trips, and sharing those moments with her family.

Want to know more?  Here’s a little Q & A…

What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?

A text from my adult children, Byron 31 and Annie, 24.  I love getting photos or messages about their day.

What’s the best advice you were ever given?

Love one another!

Where would you be right now if you had zero obligations and money didn’t matter?

Travelling the world, so many places I would love to visit and experience the local foods and music and people.

What’s your favorite place locally?

Love walking around downtown Lititz, window shopping on Main Street, outdoor table at Bullshead Pub, strolling in the park.

What are your hobbies?

Being outdoors, watching football, reading and spending time with family.

What songs are on the soundtrack to your life?

Here comes the sun by the Beatles, 70s music and old Broadway musicals.

Favorite Sport to watch?  Who’s your team?

Love watching football, lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan!

What’s one item you can’t leave home without?

My iPhone, keeps me connected daily via text with my adult children and family.  So great to search information on any thought or question or idea, all within reach of my hands.  I also read books on my phone, use it for GPS too.  I would actually be lost without it!

What’s the first concert you ever went to? Or what concert would you like to go to?

Barry Manilow when I was 16! Still get teased about it.  Would have loved to have seen The Rolling Stones in concert.  I like all kinds of music.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I’m first generation Serbian American, so I speak fluent Serbian, learned Serbian before English when I was a little girl.  My parents escaped Serbia after World War 2, and came to America, where I was born.  Growing up listening to their stories and keeping their traditions alive made for a wonderful childhood.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

I travelled to Serbia, visited the places where my parents were born.  Still have relatives there so I hope to visit again.
